The Fourth Kind
1hr 38min‎‎ - Rated PG-13‎‎ - Suspense/Thriller‎

Ok, so just got back from seeing the 4th Kind, and I can tell you now.. it was decent.. Fairly decent, the acting was tolerable and the plot was riveting (attempted sarcasm fail ;v ; ) it takes place in Alaska Nome, where a series of cases are seem to be piling up in regards to a strange nighttime occurrence. During the entire time I wanted to see more actual footage of the documentary seeing as there were over 62 hours of footage and recording marked by Angie Tyler (The movie is 1 hr 38 mins, from what I’ve read here and there the director didn’t have a big budget nor did he have enough actors to play the parts) The amount of real footage was rather hard to watch (as in there was allot of distortion and white noise and static and *rambles) BUT it did hold true to the suspense..sorta *silence*

I had to suffer through the bad acting of the main character Angie Tyler (played by Milla Jovovich) I wanted to cry..every time she came on the scream. I believe this is why I longed to see more original documentation with the real Angie than with the actress.. you sorta realize your watching a movie whenever she comes on, while when Angie’s ghostly appearance graces the screen you feel you are there interviewing her yourself!

They say the movie authentic is like Paranormal Activity (I’ve also seen that) by using actual footage and recordings, but other than that the movie is tolerable. The Scenery was breathtaking, the plot soso.. The horror NULL..but it was speckled with hard cold facts on Paranormal Activity, over 3000 FBI agents have been to Alaska in x amount of years, Anchorage having 353agents visit over the past couple of years, people vanishing, old ruin tabloids created during the book of genesis etc etc this is explained quickly in the movie..

The Documentary scenes were sort of quirky,. They would have the actual footage next to the new dramatization. And the cutting line between the two would pulsate back and forth, this kept the viewer alert, I suppose.. I think that was one of the things I thought was rather clever..annoying, but clever

Ah if you have any more questions regarding the movie feel free to comment.. other than that this movie is one that should be viewed inside your home, not at a theater, because ANY little sound, light noise apart from the movie will really kill the zone. The owls.. are not owls *SHOT*
